The programme

Works of Love is a crafts skills training programme introduced in 2016 by Desiree Shepherd, who had a vision to empower local residents through craft – and in particular, sewing.

As well as sewing sessions every week, Works of Love also hosts regular wellbeing talks in the studio that are run by local experts, on subjects like emotional intelligence, healthy living and mental health.

The studio

Our studio at Dickson House, 3 Grove Road, provides a training platform for members of our community to develop their sewing and craft skills.

Sessions are led by dedicated community craft tutors who will welcome you and support you on your creative journey.
