Our faith
This isn’t just a charity—it’s a reflection of what we believe in. Rooted in the teachings of our Christian faith, we are committed to providing help in crisis and hope for life to those struggling in our community.
vineyard well
Vineyard Well is the mental health and wellbeing arm of Vineyard Community & Richmond Foodbank, underpinning our whole-person approach to support. It exists to respond to the often overlooked and hard-to-access mental health needs of our guests, emerging in its current form from direct feedback from those we serve. Through Vineyard Well, our charity provides free mental health support and wellbeing activities alongside organised trips, holistic care, and spiritual encouragement, ensuring guests are supported not only practically but emotionally and spiritually as well. It reflects our commitment to seeing and caring for each person’s physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing as part of our Christian-inspired mission to offer help in crisis and hope for life.
At the heart of Vineyard Community & Richmond Foodbank is a deep-rooted Christian faith that shapes everything we do. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus, our work flows from a commitment to love and serve with compassion, dignity and hope. This commitment calls us to see and support each person in their whole humanity, meeting immediate practical needs while walking alongside individuals with genuine care, encouragement and respect. Our Christian foundations encourage us to value every life, nurture community, and offer holistic support that embraces body, mind and spirit, ensuring that our services are not just about provision, but about love in action.
Every Thursday from 11am-12:15pm at Vineyard Community Centre in Richmond, we host a Food with Faith session, run by Life Church Minister Dave Smith and our very own Crisis Drop-In Manager Tom. This session is a chance for folks to come together and explore faith-based discussions, whilst enjoying a home-made lunch. All are welcome.
our foundations
Holistic care
We believe in caring for the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Alongside practical support, we offer listening ears, encouragement and community. Our aim is not just relief in crisis, but restoration, hope and long-term wellbeing.
community
Our spaces are built to foster connection, friendship and mutual support. Rooted in Christian hospitality, we seek to build a community where everyone can find welcome, belonging and hope for the future, no matter their background or personal histories.
Love in Action
We believe God’s love is practical as well as spiritual. Following the example of Jesus, we serve with compassion that meets real needs, offering food, warmth, clothing, showers, safety and friendship. Our faith calls us not only to care, but to act.
Dignity for all
We believe every person is made in the image of God and worthy of respect, regardless of circumstance. Whether someone joins us for breakfast, visits our foodbank, or simply needs a safe space to sit, each individual is welcomed without judgement.
