“A Hidden treasure On the Hill”… is what one of our customers said about the Vineyard Charity shop.
We sell good quality women and menswear at prices that really tempt! New donations are displayed daily and watch out for special sale days too! Opening hours are: Monday – Thursday 10am-4pm and Friday 10am-1.00pm.
Besides clothing please donate toys and books; if we can’t sell any items we will either pass on to a partner Charity or get them recycled. All proceeds from the shop and recycling go towards the running of the Centre.
We have an urgent need for donations of men’s clothing, underwear, sleeping bags, tents and toiletries. Those who visit the morning drop-in are unable to afford clothing and so we give free of charge according to needs. . In 2016 we issued 2,433 sets of men’s and women’s clothing.
The shop recycles about 150kgs of clothes, books and shoes each week, amounting to about 7.5 tons a year for which we receive approx. £2,500. In addition we support other charity projects with our surplus stock
Grey Hat foundation is sending thousands of second hand children’s books to South African rural schools.
Suited and Booted receives suits and menswear enabling those on a low income to be well dressed for job interviews.
A big THANK YOU to all our shop donors, customers and volunteers who made 2016 such a successful trading year. The Charity Shop raised £36, 358.46. All money raised goes to support the work of the Centre.
Please keep the donations coming in! And if you can spare some of your time we’d love to hear from you as a shop Volunteer!
Prices are very low! And there are real bargains to be had…
especially at our frequent sales!
We also produce hand crafted goods made from recycled material which we cannot sell in the shop. These beautiful tote bags opposite are made by trainees at our nearby skills and training centre and cost just £10, with all proceeds going to the charity. See our Works of Love web page and a short video of the first training course.
