Donate

We accept donations in almost any form, with the exception of electrical goods. People often donate:

  • Clothing – Menswear and womenswear

  • Shoes – for men and women

  • Toiletries

  • Books

  • Toys and games

  • Homeware and kitchenware

  • Jewellery

Please note that we only accept donations at our main shop, not our pop-up shop.

Urgent requirements

We have an urgent need for men’s clothing, underwear, sleeping bags, tents and toiletries. Anything you can give will be passed onto people in need and every donation makes a huge difference. In 2017, we issued 2,041 sets of men’s and women’s clothing to drop-in visitors.

High-quality goods, reasonably priced

We’re lucky to reside in one of the wealthiest boroughs in London and that means we receive a large amount of high-quality goods from the local community.
We display new donations on a daily basis and watch out for our sales days.

Recycling

Recycling is a huge part of what we do at our shop and another source of revenue for the centre.
We recycle about 150kgs of clothes, books and shoes each week, amounting to about 7.5 tons a year. We receive approx. £2,500 for this work.
We also support other charity projects with our surplus stock. For example:
The Grey Hat foundation sends thousands of second-hand children’s books to rural schools in South Africa.
And Suited and Booted gives our suits and menswear to disadvantaged people so they can feel comfortable at job interviews.

Upcycling

We also do our fair share of upcycling. We take material from unwanted garments to create hand-crafted goods like tote bags. All of these products are made by trainees as part of our Works of Love initiative and cost just £10. All proceeds go to the centre.

Thank you!

We’d like to say a big thank you to all of the shop donors, customers and volunteers that made 2018 such a successful trading year.
The Charity Shop raised £40,581 and every penny is now being spent within the centre.
Please keep the donations coming in and if you can spare some of your time we’d love to hear from you as a shop volunteer.

Financial donations

We depend on donations to keep our community centre operational. Please give whatever you can afford.
